Today’s tip is to use barriers strategically to save money.

If it’s too easy for you to buy things because a credit card is in your wallet, take the credit card out of the wallet.  “Using” here also refers to “removing” barriers — if seeing all the receipts from your credit card use would help you not use the credit card, carry an envelop into which you put all receipts — and keep the envelop near the credit card to remind you of how much you have been charging.
